Why we proudly use Rohde´s Free Range Eggs

With both chicken and pork being free range we continue our conscious choice of suppliers and Rohde´s Free Range Eggs are no exception. John and Ange Rohde from Rohde´s Free Range Eggs in the scenic Clare Valley, South Australia have been producing humanely farmed RSPCA Approved eggs for more than 10 years.


Life for hens on the Rohde’s farm is a good one. As free range hens, their days are spent roaming outside with space to explore, trees for shade and plenty of grass and dirt to scratch and peck. Hens are stocked at less than 1,700 hens per hectare and the outdoor area is rotated to keep it fresh.


At night, hens are kept safe from predators in a cosy barn where they can perch to feel safe while building leg strength, dustbathe to clean and maintain their feathers, and lay their eggs in secluded nest boxes.


We at Three Beans believe in animal welfare, and we support the best of the best. That’s why we source Rohde’s Free Range Eggs. Being RSPCA Approved means that Rohde’s Free Range Eggs are farmed to the RSPCA’s detailed animal welfare standards, with regular on-farm visits from RSPCA Assessors who check the standards are being met. This is how we know that our eggs have been farmed humanely.
